I became a trip leader for the mountaineering and climbing club in Fall 2016. Being a trip leader involves taking groups of new rock climbers out to national and state parks and setting them up with everything they need to have a safe and successful trip. In leading a trip I am in charge of making sure everyone with me follows all of the rules of the club and remains healthy and safe over an extended period of time in the wilderness. I also help to train new trip leaders who want to step up to help the climbing community. The training involves different aspects of climbing, and climbing safety, as well as general outdoor safety and survival skills.
At the end of the Spring 2017 semester I was elected as The club's Secretary for the Summer of 2017, and the 2017-18 school year. Being the secretary involves taking minutes of all of the meetings, keeping the club's website up to date, and sending/responding to any emails related to the club.
In August 2017 I joined the competitive climbing team and have since competed in multiple rock climbing competitions across Iowa.
I am currently the president of the mountaineering club and am in charge of the day to day proceedings of the club. I have been using my knowledge of the club gained over the years to implement changes I see beneficial for the club's future success. This includes helping every other officer run their position, as well as coordinating meetings and planning events for all members to take place in.

Being an ambassador for Engineer's Week involves volunteering for a number of events put on by the club annually at Iowa State University. This has included things such as giving tours to prospective University students, and passing out food at the daily engineer lunches during Engineer's Week.
2018, 2019 Head Ambassador
Bronze "Ultimate Team Player" award winner for the 2015 fiscal year. This is an award that is voted on by all of the employees of the company for the person who puts in the most effort to help others without being asked to do so. I got bronze (third place) out of 200+ employees.
I graduated high school with an accolade as an ISAC Illinois State Scholar for the 2012-2013 Year.
In 2009, I won a poetry writing competition and was published in the “A Celebration of Poets” book.
